• While traveling the roads in search of Herefords to build our program on, Sandhill Farms in KS was on the short lists of places to visit. I asked Kevin Schultz of Sandhill Farms, "who is your #1 cow family in terms of carcass, udder quality and performance?" He led me straight to the G06 cow! She has produced two herdsires for ABS Global, SHF Phoenix M33 P68 and SHF Progress P20. Both of these herdsires are calving ease, performance, and carcass standouts. Please refer to our R13 footnotes for more cow family information.
• G06 has some age, but her udder is as sound as a 3 year old, showing ideal forward attachment, a level floor and very refined teats. Her daughters also possess extreme udder quality traits.
• So far with eight offspring, G06 has a progeny lifetime BW ratio of 90.8, WW ratio of 105.1, YW ratio of 105.5, REA ratio of 106.2 and an IMF ratio of 113.3.
• Negotiations began after we had evaluated the entire Sandhill Farm herd, G06 and her daughters. After the "dust settled" M6 owned G06 ("grandma"), N68 ("ma") and R13 ("sissy") and both M6 Ranch and Sandhill Farms were richer.
• M6 has progeny, pregnancies or embryos from these sires: KCF Bennett 3008 M326, HH Advance 255M ET, Remitall Governor 236G, GH Rambo 279R, BR DM Bodacious ET, and DM BR Sooner.
